Italy - regulatory changes: call center location

From April 1st, 2017 in Italy call center operators are obligated to inform callers/callees about the location of the call center. This rule is valid for inbound and outbound calls and it does not matter which number range is used.

If the call center is located outside of the EU it must be possible that the caller can be immediately forwarded to another call center located within the European Community.

Penalties for non-compliance are pretty high (up to EUR 50.000,-- irrespective of the number of calls generated).
